Examination of the physical, cognitive, and social/emotional development of children and adolescents ages 3 - 21, covering the licensure areas of early childhood, middle childhood, adolescence-to-young-adult, and multi-age. Emphasis will be on the critical appraisal of developmental theories in terms of research support and educational practice.

This course will cover theories of adult development, current research on adult learners, ways of assessing the needs and interests of adult learners, and ways of creating environments in which adult learners can thrive.
